PAT testing, or Portable Appliance Testing, is the process of checking electrical appliances for safety.
It involves a series of visual inspections and electrical tests to ensure that the appliances are safe to use.
The purpose of PAT testing is to prevent electrical accidents and reduce the risk of fire caused by faulty appliances. It is typically carried out by qualified electricians or PAT testing specialists.
Once it's tested a sticker will be applied to the appliance to say if it's passed or failed.
Green for pass and red for failed.
