Inspecting Bouncing pillows is a legal requirement and must be tested every 12 months.
Here are a few key areas to consider when inspecting a bouncing pillow.
1. Check the condition on the material to ensure there is no damage, rips or signs of wear especially around the edges.
2. Safety features are very important on jumping pillows. There must be a fence all around the equipment with 1 entrance and exit that has to have some kind of latch to ensure it's closed when not getting used.
There must be a minimum of 5 inches of sand around the pillow that has to be free from object and checked regularly.
A fence has to be a minimum of 8 feet from the edge of the bouncing pillow and at least 1 meter tall.
3. Signs must be installed showing where the exit it in case of emergency.
4. The blower must be free and away from all users and needs pat tested along with the bouncing pillow every 12 months
The bouncing/jumping pillow is a fun activity but there is regulations to follow plus regular inspections by staff must be done to ensure the safety of its users
